“Science,” said Mr. McCarthy.
“Yes!” said the class.
“We love, Crayfish,” said Sasha and I. I smelled the fresh water and wondered what we would do that day.” So did Sasha. I could see it on her face. Mr.McCarthy wrote on the whiteboard, it said, “Take out the crayfish notebook.” So I took out my crayfish notebook. Mr.McCarthy got the crayfish and put them out in their trays. Some were on the rug and some were on the back two tables. Then he said, “I will send you to a workspace, also please flip to page 23.” Meanwhile Sasha and I were reading a very good book. You two girls will go on the rug.
Once we got to our seat Mr. McCarthy said, “Today we are going to hold the crayfish.” The class was so happy. One kid was so happy. He was running all around the room.”
“Take it out of the clear plastic box, please,” Mr.McCarthy said. Sasha and I were to afraid to pick it up and to touch it. Miya picked it up she was so brave.
Miya, Sasha and I were trying to pick a name for it. Finally, we picked a name for it, “Selly,” we said with joy.
“Quickly,” I said. “Put it in the water so it won’t get dry.” So Miya put it back in the water.
After a couple of minutes Mr.McCarthy took it out of the water and told Sasha and If we wanted to, we could touch.
“Maybe that’s a fine idea,” I said. “Aha, not sure,” said Sasha. “Well I think I am,” I said I slowly put my hand in the water and touched it. “WOW!” that felt better. Then I thought
“I said. Em you should pick it up.”
“If you can touch it then you can pick it up, right?” said Miya. “Well I guess I can try.” I said. Slowly I put my hand in the water and picked it up.
“Wow! That was amazing!”
“I will never forget this science lesson!” I said.
