Make your writing a gift

skribbleandgrandpa.jpg

Write a narrative about a  special time you  spent with your family.  Tell details of your memory and be sure to include your feelings.  Why did you choose this event and what made it special?

Once you have written your piece and read it over.  Dress it up.  Decorate it, roll it like a scroll or draw accompanying artwork.

Now it's ready.  You have a perfect gift straight from your heart and mind.  Your family and friends are sure to love it.

Brainstorm Topic:

Recess

Create a list, poem, sketch or free write about Healthy Living. Submit your brainstorm for the next issue or take it home and create a longer piece.
Dreams

Keeping a dream journal is an excellent way to tap into your own creative mind.  Keep a notebook by your bedside and as soon as you wake up, try to write down as much of the events of your dream life as possible.  You create stories in your head all night long and writing them down is a great way to claim them as your own.

You can create a piece from a remembered dream or sometimes use elements of character, setting and plot to create your own stories.

Try writing 5 minutes per day everyday for a week.  Free your voice!
