Skribblers Celebration 2009

The rain poured down and still they came. We had a record number of attendees at the latest annual writer's celebration held at the Albany academy on May 14th. The student readers were amazing and we were all lucky enough to hear Dan Mahoney speak about his life as an author and illustrator. So many of our young authors and illustrators were inspired by his presentation and are now making plans for the launch of their own careers.

What a great time we had again at the wonderful Auditorium at the Albany Academy for Girls. Author James Preller came and shared some inspiring secrets about where ideas come from for his writing. He even shared some of his work in progress and his own writing from childhood. How cool! We had a blast listening to our young authors. The talent and creativity of our young people is always amazing to witness live and in person.

Skribblers Celebration 2007

Skribblers Magazine Incorporated hosted our first annual celebration of young writers on May 31, 2007.

What a fabulous time we had listening to our published authors read their work. We were thrilled to have Coleen Paratore share some inspiring words about writing with the children. She gave them much to think about.

The evening included Mrs. Paratore, readings by children, writing activities, prize give aways and of course we topped it all of with yummy cake.
