Roudy and His Life
Meet
Roudy, the street hamster, which means he lives on the street. Roudy lost his
family when he was just a baby. Roudy really wishes he could see his family again. Every night Roudy dreams of his family and what it would be like if he lived with
them in a human’s house. “I wish I could see them again,”
says Roudy in his sleep. Also, Roudy have a very tough life. He has to eat scraps of garbage from the trash. He only has half eaten bits of leftover garbage food. One exciting part of Roudy’s life is his adventures.
For
example Roudy had gone on a boat that belonged to a veterinarian and there he fell into his dreams. When Roudy awoke, he was in the Rain Forest. Roudy was scared
he had never been away from his nice fluffy and warm bed made of leaves before. Then
a monkey jumped out of the bushes and yelled, “BOO!”
Roudy
cried out loud, “Why did you do that? I’m already scared enough,
from being away from home!”
“Oh
sorry, anyway, my name is Mr. Monkey.”
Then
Mr. Monkey started to show off by eating many, many bananas. “See how many bananas I can eat,” said Mr. Monkey. Roudy was about to throw up. Hours later,
Mr. Monkey was starting to turn yellow, because of all those bananas; first head, then stomach, then arms, then legs and then
the rest of his body.
“You’re
turning yellow like a banana,” Roudy said.
“Yellow
as a banana??” Mr. Monkey said quickly. “IMPOSSIBLE!!” he said. Then he looked down at his arm and screamed, “ AAAAHHHHH!!!! I am turning yellow! Why did you not tell me?”
“I
did,” said Roudy in a calm voice.
“Oh
sorry…again,” said Mr. Monkey with a little guilty smile on his face. Then
Roudy saw a boat appear in the mists of the trees. Roudy said good-bye to Mr.
Monkey and ran to catch the boat to go home.
Roudy
and Mr. Monkey had made a new friend for each other…THEMSELVES!
When
Roudy got on the boat he realized that he was on the wrong boat. He was in the
hunter’s boat Roudy started to scream to Mr. Monkey, “ MR. Monkey! Help! I’m on the hunter’s boat.”
“I’ll try to ask the King
of the little Forest if we can round up other animals and our sea creature friends to come and save you, “ said Mr.
Monkey while walking very clumsily.
“Well go on then! GO, HURRY!”
Said Roudy!
The
boat kept zooming away toward the hunter’s shop. Mr. Monkey kept thinking while running to King Trangle. When Mr.
Monkey got to King Trangle he said, “ Your honor, my friend Roudy the Hamster-you see he is not from here. He is from the Big City and –well- he got here on a boat and he thought he saw his boat, but it was
really a hunter’s boat and I’m trying to get animals to help and…”
“So
he is not the only one in trouble, ah buuuut…..”
“SO
IS LITTLE CALFY!” Screamed King Trangle. Mr. Monkey and King Trangle rounded
up Mrs. Monkey and Mr. and Mrs. Rhinoceros. They also rounded up Mr. and Mrs.
Platypus, to give them a ride and to help SAVE THE DAY!!
When
they got there, Mr. Monkey tried to remember the name of the hunter. “Larry…Lance…Richard…Joe
or John, yes John! Let’s all look for John’s Dead Animals, or something
similar.” Everyone started to look.
Then Mr. Platypus thought he saw Roudy so he yelled, “ What does
he look like? Is he BROWN with ORANGE eyes?”
“YES!”
“THEN
HE IS JUST ABOUT IN THE OVEN AND SO IS LITTLE CALFY!” Cried King Trangle.
“
Are they dead yet?” Asked Mr. Monkey( really crying).
“Hurry, Roudy and Little Calfy are just about in the oven!” Yelled Mr. Platypus. All the animals started to run
towards the animal shop.
A
second later, john came out of his shop talking to another one of his friends, surprisingly.
He was saying. “ A bunch of animals is never going to beat you and me , eh Old Jack?”
“
I isn’t old!” Yelled Jack( being twenty years older than John).
“
Well, you older than me and I call that told.”
“So,
you be old next year,” yelled Jack in John’s face.
“Yeah
but you still twenty years older than me!” While John and Jack were arguing,
the animals started to sneak towards the animal shop. About a minute later, when
the animals were about twenty-four inches away, the two men(still arguing) had just realized what the animals were doing. Jack and John started to run towards the animals.
Trangle the KING of the forest roared and pounced on John. All the other
animals pounced on twenty-year older Jack. The animals growled, screamed, howled,
barked, mooed and squealed. It was a hard fight; even though the two men were
"old " they were still very strong. But, they were very strong animals, also. The animals won every way. So, they ran
into o the shop, to find Roudy just in time. Again. Surprisingly, there was another man to trample, who had a knife.
“He must be the butcher,” growled King Trangle, while pouncing on(which his nametag read) Mark. While Mark was being pounced on, the other animals set Little Calfy free!!!
But
behind them all, stood John and Jack, with a giant net!!! When the animals turned around ( to leave) they were captured. Luckily, King Trangle had sharp claws
and teeth. He slashed all the animals out of that BIG MESS!!!Jack and John still
stood behind them. “I think I’ll get that monkey; you get that one John,” said Jack loudly. Just when they were about to jump on Mr. and Mrs. Monkey, Trangle leapt to the rescue. He bit all three men; they all had swollen arms and bruised legs.
The animals had won once and for all.
Roudy
did not know that he was so close to home. He was in Staten Island and Roudy
lived in Brooklyn. He said his goodbyes to his sad friends and headed for the
Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which led right to Brooklyn!!!
Also
what Roudy didn’t know was that his parents lived on Coney Island with HUMANS!!! The only thing Roudy remembered of
his parents was, that they lived with Mr., Mrs., and Miss Brinn. He found his
parents when he read on mailbox, “ The Brinns, Coney Island.”
He
got so excited. Roudy caught almost every human’s attention including the
Brinns and his parents. Once they saw him, they ran to him and caught even more
people’s attention!!!
Once
the Brinns realized who Roudy was, they let him in the house forevermore. Roudy
lived happily ever after with his new family!
