I was getting ready to go. I ate breakfast then got my gear on. I got my cleats on, my outfit, and my knee pads. I was ready to go, “MOM” was getting read too. She got dressed, put on her black shoes, and got her pocketbook. My brother was getting ready to. He got some exact things on, except they were green instead of yellow. We got there about 40 minutes later.
I was waiting for my letter to come out. I was letter “n”, which stunk because it took an hour and a half. Then my letter finally came, so I was happy. I went against a kid who I kept on the ground the whole time. So, I was doing that but then he reversed, so he got 2 points. I had one loss. But it was AOK to me. Then I was gonna go against another kid. So, I waited and waited for about “more” than half an hour. I finally went up. He beat me in 6 seconds just because I was in third grade and he was in fifth grade. I got my trophy a half hour later. I did not come in fourth place, but I came in third.
My brother beat the New York State champion, so he came in first. I was jealous. When we got home I was about to throw my trophy out, but mom made me feel better. I felt great.
